What is funny is that most people in this forum don't come from wealth and they themselves are not wealthy enough for their wealth to cushion them against bad governance; they have kids who will be affected..some of their daughters will end up with sponsors whilst some of their sons will end up either plotting to kill the parent and take up the small wealth or as alcoholics or just dillussioned due to lack of opportunities to enable them attain their potential but we are Africans and shortsightedness is our forte
I know for a fact 70% of people her, at least those who live in Kenya, are in their 40's going to 50's. They definitely have young adults in their 20's who are looking for jobs at the moment and others probably considering starting families.

If they are in the civil service, they will either be crying about late payment or they will be retrenched.

There is another group probably closer to retirement. Probably they have not been planning their retirement early enough. Since they are an easy target, when the axe drops they will be out here struggling financially and probably looking for odd jobs.

That is why being educated for an African is indirectly proportional to their wisdom..........you see some characters here failing to realise that you may have some goodies in the BBI and a few bad issues in it...but if the costs of the few bad ones far outweigh the benefits of the goodies why would a sane person vote yes for BBI? In a country where the president and his relatives and his deputy and their cronies are stealing 30% of all borrowed funds and Kenyans are overtaxed to meet the shortfall and some idiot supports expansion of the executive and representation and increase of county funds and unnecessary creation of commission.....I cry for my beloved country

Simple Economics 101 or CPA sec 1 depending where you learnt is - Economic upheaval affects the middle class more than any other class.

My mzee and mum have been singing the BBI tune juu apparently it will bring peace, plus they don't want to vote for Ruto ati because he was involved in the killing of Kikuyus in the PEV.

My mum retires this year thankfully plus mzee already retired. The first thing I told both of them is to secure their pensions and convert a portion into dollars. Whether they listen or not, shauri yao.

At least they won't starve since they don't rely on that money.

I pity them juu nitakuwa nasema tu, "I told you so!" via whatsapp video nikiwa Canada. 😂😂

For the previous generation, it is understandable. They cannot even say anything bad about the president over the phone because they still remember the dark days of Moi.

They have been conditioned to fear the government while sisi we have become a rebellious lot because of the things we have watched on TV happening in other countries and the democratic spaces they enjoy.

Just try and educate them and live them alone if they fail to listen.
