Former president George H.W. Bush rarely spoke of it, but as a Navy pilot during World War II, he narrowly escaped being cannibalized by Japanese soldiers.
Bush and eight other airmen were on a mission to destroy a Japanese radio tower near the Pacific island of Chichijima when they were all shot down. The eight other pilots were captured, while Bush drifted in the Pacific until he was miraculously rescued by the submarine USS Finback.
Meanwhile, his fellow pilots were tortured, beheaded, then cooked and eaten with soy sauce and vegetables.

Elijah Mwangale.... Was a former cabinet Minister who led a Chequered life.
The incumbent Mwangale dethroned had a less savory repute as listless and dull.
It is exactly by offering the opposite – charm, youthfulness, style and suave – that a young Mwangale, 29, dethroned his former teacher at Chesamisi Mark Barasa.
He was married to two wives and made business deals his entire life.
Known to locals as Bwana kiko, He is famous for propelling a Bukusu saying into the limelight in 1975, as he presented the J. M Kariuki report after being forced to expurge some prominent names....
He said, quote..
“Once upon a time, a hyena came across a stone. The hyena stopped by and hailed the stone but the stone did not respond. As it passed the stone, the hyena turned around and said, “Even if you have not responded, you have heard” and with those few remarks, I beg to move.”

The Day Njonjo Was Called A Traitor By Elijah Mwangale
The onslaught went on for weeks inside and outside parliament, yet no one dared to name the alleged traitor. All the dumbfounded citizens heard was that the alleged traitor wore pin stripped three-piece suit, drank champagne, smoked Marlboro cigarettes and conducted himself as a co-president both within and outside Kenya.

The traitor debate had been kicked off by president Moi when he claimed that there was a senior politician being groomed by foreigner powers to take over power in Kenya.

Charles Njonjo was in England when the allegations were made. He did not come back immediately and he actually detoured to France before coming back home. When he got back home, he is said to have gone straight to state house to deliver two suits Moi had ordered in London. Moi and Njonjo shared a tailor in London and they often wore similar three-piece suit. After delivering the suits, Njonjo had a brief meeting with Moi where he was assured that he was not the alleged traitor. From state house, Njonjo headed to Nation centre where he held a press conference and denied that he was the alleged traitor.

The attacks continued even with Njonjo’s denial but none was yet ready to bell the cat. The attacks subsided in the third and fourth week and people thought Njonjo was going to pull through. But as it is normal with politicians, Njonjo miscalculated and made a cardinal mistake. He attended a Sunday church service in a PCEA church in his Kikuyu constituency and in this service, a lay leader called Githegi preached about a limping sheep that could not be trusted to lead the rest of the herd. The lay leader happened to be Njonjo’s friend and there and then his goose was cooked and come next week, parliament went for his Jugular.

Elijah Mwangale, a politician from Bungoma and a cabinet minister was the man who belled the cat. In one of the parliamentary sessions, Mwangale, who was sitting next to Njonjo stood on a point of order and told Njonjo ‘My friend Charles, you are the traitor people are talking about, in parliament and in the streets’.

Njonjo was stunned but he nevertheless responded, and only challenged Mwangale to repeat the same outside parliament, Mwangale laughed and told Njonjo he was ready to repeat the same as he was no longer powerful.

After naming Njonjo, Mwangale went back to his office and was followed by GG Kariuki, JJ Kamotho and Stanley Oloitiptip. The trio were of the view that Mwangale did wrong by naming Njonjo as the traitor.

GG was more emphatic, he told Mwangale that Njonjo was so powerful and if at all he wanted to be president, all he had to do was to press a button and the British and French would send their troops. Mwangale started sweating, he was no longer sure about what he had done, maybe Njonjo was indispensable and would bounce back. The next day, Njonjo resigned as a cabinet minister, member of parliament and as Kikuyu sub branch chairman, at least then Mwangale could breathe easy.

Njonjo parting shot after he was pardoned by Moi was that politics was a dirty game and vowed never to rejoin politics.

The Curious Case of the Chronovisor:
The alleged device, which according to many is nothing more than science fiction, was purportedly built in the 1950s by a team of scientists led by Father Pellegrino Maria Ernetti (1925-1994), an Italian physicist who eventually became a priest. It is worth mentioning as well that he enlisted the help of twelve of the world’s most prominent scientists, who wished to remain anonymous. Of those twelve, two were named years after they died, one Nobel laureate Enrico Fermi, and one Werner Von Braun of NASA and NAZI fame.
Father Pellegrino Maria Ernetti (1925-1994) was a Benedictine priest, scientist, and world-class authority on "archaic" music (pre-Christian to 10th century A.D.). He claimed to have yoked quantum physics to the occult arts to construct a time-machine: the chronovisor. Is the Vatican suppressing the full truth of Father Ernetti’s life and achievements? In 1988, the Vatican issued a decree in which it warned that anyone using, an instrument of such characteristics would be excommunicated. To many, this was an unnecessary warning since, according to the Church, the Chronovisor never existed. So why issue a warning for just another hoax?
Reports by Father Ernetti suggest that whoever uses the device is able to capture and record specific locations, important events, and track noteworthy individuals. He revealed that it worked by ‘…processing residual electromagnetic radiation left over by numerous processes…’ though giving few details, Father Ernetti remained secretive and stated he was not at liberty to reveal further details about the Chronovisor.
“‘…processing residual electromagnetic radiation left over by numerous processes…’”
In addition to the crucifixion and a speech given by Napoleon Bonaparte, Father Ernetti also claimed to have witnessed a 169 BC production of the tragedy, “Thyestes”, which has been considered a lost work in modern times as only a few fragments of the text remains intact. Father Ernetti claimed to have reconstructed the entire text, which was later translated to English by Princeton University professor, Dr. Katherine Owen Eldred. Eldred noted in her analysis that she believed Ernetti had written the play himself rather than transcribing an original performance.
According to French priest and paranormal author, François Brune, he met Father Ernetti in the 1960s when the two were traveling across the Grand Canal of Venice. As the two were experts in ancient languages, they began to talk about the Bible and its interpretation through the years. The Chronovisor has been described as a large cabinet with antennae made from alloys of unknown metals, a connected cathode ray tube, and a control panel of buttons and levers.
In a 2003 interview, François Brune relayed that a few months prior to Father Ernetti’s death in 1994, Ernetti told him that he had just partaken in a meeting at the Vatican with the last remaining scientists who worked on the Chronovisor. According to Father Ernetti via Brune, the Chronovisor had been dismantled by that time. On his death bed, Father Ernetti reportedly recanted his claims of the Chronovisor; however, Brune theorized that Ernetti was coerced into recounting everything.
