Some of these Bible teachings begin to make more sense as you get older.
Proverbs 22:7:
“The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is slave of the lender.”
Field Marshall's case is a perfect example. He is a slave to his friend until he pays that debt. The Bible does not say the old will rule over the young (Poleni Senators).
Here is another example:
Proverbs 6:10:
A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.
A man has about 40 productive years (25-65) after which his physical being is unable to work and before which he doesn't have the skills (still studying). Research has shown that a normal adult needs only 7-8 hours of sleep. If one man sleeps for 8 hours and another for 11 hours, at 65 the latter will be 10 productive years behind the former. This assumes that everything else about them is identical i.e it's the same person. One manages to squeeze out more work and more life out of 40 years than the other.
