The focus has been too much on farming this and that without much concerned for cottage industry. Farmers will let milk go to waste because price is low or logistics (bad roads and all) but not knowing that the same milk could make butter, ghee, cheese and the cheese can stay good longer and the price will be better, always.

Tomatoes rot in farms yet tomato sauce and tomato paste are almost in short supply.

And this is why I'm very impressed with Muranga of late. Goat cheese, duck meat, wine, yoghurt, furniture from special wood/plants ... They're really broadening their farm output.
