Schools opening postponed

A friend close to CS Education has told me that we shouldn’t blame the CS for the School Opening communique which was released at midnight, the day of opening.

They say that on Friday last week, the ministry has recommended the school opening to pushed out by one week, but was told to wait for a final direction from statehouse.

They followed up with statehouse on Wednesday and was told the decision hasn’t been made because the President had been engaged on other issues and His Chief of Staff, the only other person allowed to make such decisions in statehouse was also busy.

It is on Sunday midnight/Monday morning that someone at statehouse gave the okay and a communication release.
Kwa hivyo CSs are just rubberstamps for the big man on the hill. Ferked up regime if we're being honest with ourselves.

Nimeshtuka sana tena sana. Yaani we are back into the Moi Error when technocrats could not make prudent decisions on their own until Bwana Mkubwa said so? Tuko na shida.....

Mbadi saw this kitambo, those appointments were by design.

As of yesterday, even nys had not been deployed to help look for bodies in Mathare flooding ,it was sad seeing locals wading in the river with sticks and no government employees in sight except cops whose job was only to ferry the bodies to the mortuary

On the positive side, they listened.
I do sincerely hope that you are joking here and not serious at all.
Reason being common sense dictates that the President and his CS use their common senses to evaluate the current weather conditions to make prudent and timely decisions.

How on earth does a whole President fail to give reasonable and sufficient notice on education matters?
Do you know how many people will suffer huge inconveniences and financial losses arising from this ineptitude?

Do not make us lower our estimation of your intelligence and competence please even if you are duty bound to make excuses and scapegoats for JSKS and Kenya Kwisha.

The losses are much higher than it appears. Boarding schools had already secured supplies (some perishable) in advance, teachers and other staff had reported to their work stations, and other school-linked businesses were geared up for the start of the new term. Put together, the losses could easily be in the hundreds of million.

In the nearby school there is a tap-to-eat system where they pay a small amount and get lunch and today those who cook have been forced to announce to the kids who reside near the school if weather permits to get some free lunch otherwise itakuwa waste.
@Kasaman pitia hapa please

It's ferkingunbelievable....as somebody above has pointed out, not even NYS has been deployed to try and alleviate the flooding situation. Earth dams zinambomoka without the people downstream being warned. No police officers are being stationed near flooded road sections to warn Kenyans. No rescues at all.

Something is extremely off..

No normal parent would have sent his/her child to school this morning !
Am afraid and sorry to say many parents aren't normal. A lot of kids had to be turned back this morning
[/QUOTE]

I had to do that early in the morning !
Even showing the the ministry of education letter was nt enough
