Sauti Sol's Suzanna review

Sauti Sol, Kenya's most renowned artistes have done it again. I was worried when I heard about their separation rumours this past year after Savara went for his further studies. I breathe a sigh of relief on Friday when twitter was on fire, Instagram and WhatsApp stories were all 'Senjeing' and Suzanna was trending. Well, we are finally listening to our music guys, congratulations.

The best news is they're set to release their new album dubbed 'Midnight Train' and Suzanna is the first single off their new baby.

Here is what I think about the song, I'll highlight my reviews below, from how the song began, funny and inspirational moments on the video and so on.

1. Beginning of the video

The video begins with a party mood, party hoppers outside a club waiting for their favourite artistes' performance. Several fans catching up shortly before getting into the venue.

This setup is so common in today's life, we've seen people catching up in concerts outside the venues and doing their thing, I think flirting and mushene should be added in clubs and concert menus.

The beginning of the video is the best thing that has happened to Sauti Sol's career.

2. Lyrics

Trust Sauti Sol to never disappoint you with their lyrics as in, they're the royco to the githeri maaahn.

In verse one, Bien starts off with his sweet melodious voice, dissing Suzanna about changing her skin color, growing her hair and posting her sponyo on social media.

This to me reflects what we see on Instagram every single day, how many girls have declared their love for older men? How many girls have changed their skin colors just to be liked by other people?

My favourite part of Bien's verse is when he saw Suzanna in London, with Silicon in her bum bum shacking what her doctor gave her, yooo!
This verse sums up what young girls go to do abroad.

Bien is talking to girls who use Instagram and other social media platforms to portray their worst behaviours.

In verse two, the man who has been giving ladies sleepless nights aka Savara gives us the traditional and outdated advice of shapes and money, surely Savara, you have probably not dated a well-endowed lady with brains and good manners. To be honest the 'Mwanamke ni tabia shepu majaliwa' phrase is not for this generation.

For the first time ladies are not happy with their knight and shining armor, how dare he say 'Mwaume hisia, pesa ni majaliwa?' How will ladies survive with a broke man? How will a man survive with his 'hisia', he has made men start thinking of sitting at home and wait for their 'hisia' to pay their bills. SAD! Surely, Savara, hapo hapana. Nevertheless, I'm happy he said that was none of his business.

In verse three, the man himself, Mr. Chimano portrays the boyfriend who was used and dumped by Suzanna for older and richer men. He cries to her begging her to come home and sort their issues. He wants to rekindle their love to be like that of Romeo and Juliet. Woiyeee, pole sana Chimano.

In the chorus, Suzanna has been travel all over the world, she doesn't have time to come home, they go ahead and advise Suzanna to come home and talk to someone about her struggles because there's always that one person who will love and listen to her.

3. Outfit

Can other artistes please hire Sauti Sol's stylist? The style in this video is on another level. Who can redo this style better than Sauti Sol? Their wigs, suits, shoes and makeup sums up the video.

The ladies wore what our mothers used to wear back in the day. Yes, that's how they met our fathers. In those funny and unpopular outfits.

Suzanna, you should probably hear this song and watch the video, you'll end up removing your silicon bum bum and wished you never lightened your skin.
