Saidia: Driving License Renewal

Just discovered that my license expired weeks ago after logging onto the TIMS site to ensure I've not been a victim of the recent spate of white collar thieving of vehicles.

Anyway, I thought renewing a simple BCE licence would be straightforward but I am encountering issues.

I have the new smart DL that was issued 3 years ago and this are the instructions on the NTSA/TIMS site

However, I can't upload the required documents i.e. old ID and DL

So I went online to see the actual process. Turns out the renewal is via eCitizen?! WTH.

Anyway, huko wanasema ni 600/- for one year renewal and hakuna option ya 3 years. Again, WTF?

Sasa I am conflicted. What's the actual legit way of doing this process as I need it ASAP.

If you want it urgently visit NTSA offices in Upper Hill.
Their system is ferked up

TIMS the upgrade that was purported to have taken place from the old TIMS was a SHAM, mimi nilipiga ile gari Transfer kwa Insurance bado haijareflect kwa end ya Insurance saa ii ni 2 months down the line. Kwanza unatumia the New TIMS ama ile ya kitambo? ju 2 TIMS are currently available.

Alafu it will be better if you went the 1 year route (E-Citizen), ile back log yenye iko ya ii Smart DL si kidogo unaeza apply saa ii uambiwe utembe na print out ya iyo Smart DL naukienda hapo NTSA ni chenga unapigwa kila wakati

That seems to promise a printed slip. Is that good enough ama Pamba atanionyesha maneno?
Funny enough, I drive at least 5 days a week and in 3 years, no cop has checked my license. Just the occasional insurance gaze at traffic jams and that also is rare.

Thats good enough wanajua mashida za Smart DL si kidogo saa ii watu wanatembea na makaratasi as they await printing of Smart DLs

I opted to renew last month for one year, very smooth and fast via ecitizen.

Thank God I did mine earlier this year. They took away my psv rights and gave me some B. E, or something like that in place of the old BCE.
It's a bit challenging dealing with their website. If you had registered on their old website, keep doing all your transactions there. What shows on the old website, more often doesn't correspond to what is on the new website. I have issues with expiry and stuff like that...
I don't even bother to resolve anymore.

The new Tims (Timsvirl) inasumbua sana, ni kama NTSA hawaja update database yao. I was trying to transfer a m/v but haikua inaonekana kwa Timsvirl but kwa hio ingine inaonekana, but every time I tried to proceed to transfer, I would get an error message.
