This seems to have gone under the radar and there is plenty of speculation abound. The news room brief reads like an ODM cliffhanger, threatening disruption of the social order.

The only point of convergence between the three entities is Mshwari, KCB MPesa and Fuliza under NCBA.

One can only think this press conference involves the desire of the government to split Safaricom and their Mpesa product into two separate entities.

Why does the government want to split Safcom and one of its products?
Mpesa has reached adulthood, its the biggest bank in Kenya matters deposits. Safaricom has been abusing its ownership status by anti competitive practises e.g you couldn't buy airtel airtime directly, their paybills and buy goods a/cs were locked in. I foresee airtel & telkom subscribers being allowed registration if its made into its own company

Fuliza, mshwari = Shylocks that thrived because of the bad interest rate capping law introduced by Uhuruto.

The only good news that can come is for them to reduce interest rates and remove names of people from CRB.

Could be the 3 want to form a joint venture entity. Remember these are banks, their interests come first

:):) Can an Absa account holder walk into KCB and withdraw cash from the counter? Just asking. To operate an ABSA account you must register, to open an Mpesa account you will have to register. By the way, supposing anyone with a sim could register on Mpesa, how will Airtel money benefit? These circuses don't make sense but let's wait and see.
