Ruto to ICC...??

Pale kwa MMNN, I came across an interesting video where a tangatanga leaning MP was "revealing" the president's intention to hinder his deputy from ascending to power. He mentioned the ICC case that is currently being revived and I am sure everybody knows about it. I find it very interesting that despite the fact Uhuru and Ruto were both in the ICC for very similar charges, it is only one individual who is being targeted. Surely both are joined at the hip.

Regardless of which side you support, we can all agree that playing with the issue of PEV for political purposes is very dangerous. I remember Uhuru even saying that he has one final trick up his sleeve to deal with Ruto. Could this be it?

The questions that then bother me are, why is this one person being fought this hard? Why are the current holders of power so eager to eliminate one individual by all means necessary, even going as far as using the international courts? How far can Uhuru go in terms of cooperating with the ICC unlike before? Maybe hand over his DP for trial thus eliminating him from the 2022 contest?

Does Uhuru realise that failure to achieve his expected outcome would automatically prop up and assure the DP of a massive win?

Finally, what would an overly-prosecuted William Ruto do to Uhuru's business interests if he manages to become president?

If you can write this whole insha on that thief from Sugoi on the internet, you're well capable of going to the ICC website and read the rulings on the Ruto case. Same to the Kenyatta case.

Ruto's case was dismissed without prejudice. His former lawyer is currently at the Hague. He's spilling the beans on witness tampering & elimination (read - Yebei - a Kale).

Nimechoka. Kajijazie hizo zingine.

Familiarize yourself with the conditions referred to as Jus ad bellum and then make an honest review of the events in the conflict that led to the two being summoned to the Hague.

"Judge Eboe-Osuji, concurring with Judge Fremr's evidential assessment, also vacated the charges and discharged the accused without prejudice to re-prosecution in the future. However, he declared a mistrial in the case, because it cannot be discounted that the weaknesses in the Prosecution case might be explained by the demonstrated incidence of tainting of the trial process by way of witness interference and political meddling that was reasonably likely to intimidate witnesses. In his opinion, Judge Eboe-Osuji also discussed several matters including reparations, immunities and elements of the "crimes against humanity" definition."

Now put 2 and 2 together and try to comprehend Ruto's desperation for the presidency with the hasora nonsense.

"After failing to get another adjournment in the trial, ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda withdrew the charges against Kenyatta in December 2014 “without prejudice”; meaning it could not be revived in future.

Ruto’s case, on the other hand, ended in a mistrial in 2016. The ICC bench, in a majority decision, declined to acquit both Ruto and Joshua Sang and instead only vacated the charges."

You were saying.....??

Expound please.
Logic is superior and practical compared to bullshit Law. Don't you think there's something wrong with the system? As a lawyer you know very well the crime your client has committed but in exchange for money your integrity is bought and you wonder why there's no justice for the masses.

You lose me completely. My post was not about points of law but about morality. The morality of waging war. Whether to organize to attack others or whether to organize to defend yourselves when attacked by others as defined by St Aquinas and adopted by the UN.

You are on the right track however you fail to point out what morality really is when mentioning St Aquinas and The UN in the same sentence. Those two entities are the very reason wars will never end and morality twisted.
