It was done to tame the presidency. The president is forced to be in good terms with parliament in order to run the government. We shouldn't abandon vetting simply because a favourite candindate is the president. He could go rogue or someone else elected in future might do the same. I don't think it matters who you have in parliament. Political parties are the real cancer. The CS list will be approved wholesale due to KK joint party position.
