Wanjiku serves as an advisor on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in President Uhuru Kenyatta's government

She served as a director at Old Mutual Life Assurance Company and the chairman of Standard Chartered Bank Kenya.
The 58-year-old consultant was also the executive director of Biashara Factors Limited, a consultancy firm which provides trade services
,Wanjiku was a non-executive director at TransCentury investment firm where she was the first and only woman to hold the top position.
She holds a Master's Degree from the University of Cape Town and an undergraduate degree from Duquesne University of The Holy Spirit.
