Old School Kenya Air Force

Not sure what year this is from. The tall, slim man with a mustache is Michael Gichangi, who would go on to become the Director of the National Intelligence Service. One of these officers is supposed to be General Karangi but I don't remember which, possibly the stout smiling guy on the left, just where the line splits the photo in half. Both men were serving in the Kenya Air Force at this point in time.

Seeing as it is a line of defence for this country, there is no way it can be in poor shape. Hii sio gari utapelekea kawaya wa grogon wafanye panel beating. They have to be meticulously maintained. The fact that none has crashed from poor airworthiness should tell you the level of maintenance they receive.

Also considering their age. Flying this gem is like sliding into granddaddys restored 1950s Mercedes gull wing with updated electronics like drive by wire, cruise control, ABS, Traction control and heads-up display.

That's the best part. Pulling into 4 or 5 Gs and then seeing the beauty of the earth from 10,000 meters above ground level.
