George Robinson, the mostly assumed mythical figure in Bob Marley's classic, No Woman, No Cry, has passed on, aged 89. He was a real person, after all and many did not know this fact! From the ghettoes of Trenchtown, Kingston, to the uptown, 56, Hope Road, home of the late reggae legend, Georgie stayed with his friend to the end, making "the fire light", till death did them part, some 40 years ago. Now, old Georgie has joined his pal where the Light shines the brightest... "...Said I remember when we used to sit, in the government yard in Trenchtown. And then, Georgie, would make the fire light, as it was, log wood burning through the night...” May the Light continue to shine on you both, Georgie and Bob!
