Wacheni niulize, the president is supposed to use a simple, unarmored second-hand Toyota?

This is the kind of poverty mentality that makes us look rather petty.

Let's discuss economic crimes that impact millions, not magari ya peni mbili that even individuals can afford, let alone presidents.

The issue is not the amount spent but the thinking behind it. When leaders have nothing to offer, they resort to mesmerizing citizens with opulent lifestyles. We have seen the luxurious watches and belts and everything; and we dismissed them as personal spending. How about the State house repairs in the middle of a financial crisis? Its not as if we are a brand new country. We are looking at a bunch of people who have no issue spending tax-payers' money on non-priority items. This act will be replicated across the board, because others have taken the cue. They are already talking about buying a new presidential jet because the current one is too old. Well, a 30-year old jet with limited use, such as the president's, is practically new. We saw helicopters shipping materials for UDA elections as citizens grapple with floods.
How do you convince people that you are competent while they witness such misplaced priorities? The man wasn't sworn on foot.
