Nimesoma BBI na nitaipitisha. Here's why

Berlin

BBI is a lousy document and the gift of a corrupt regime and a corrupt opposition, it's meant to dupe the voter that there is light at the end of the tunnel.. And the light is a train, the 4 billion grass land scraping SGR!

Tribalism exists in the mind of a layman, he is pelted with lies round the clock till he cannot tell left from right. The Noveau Rich on the other hand are in business and bed together, and occasionally invite the government to a menage troi.

Designing more rooms on the house on the hill is reminiscent of the spectacular Marseilles Palace in 🇫🇷, more accommodation for the rich and more sweat for the masses.

If BBI meant good for the people it would have offered priority to the institutions that hold the GOVERNMENT accountable , not A institution that is the OP.

The only people seeing any benefit from BBI are the politicians already in office or planning to run for office. This is a very hard sell to the general public when the highlights of the document are so awful and do not address any of their primary concerns.
Currently, Wsr and Rao are being favoured as it gives them opportunity to dangle carrots in form of seats to mobilize tribal arithmetic. Upuuuuusi is perceiving that when my tribal mate leader is in the eating trough, am also very comfortable.

Looks good. But here's the kicker. Tax is levies on profit, which is made after goods and services are sold. To have goods and services to sell, you need to produce them first. If GoK really wanted to help youths, it should deals with production bottlenecks. From road blocks with cops demanding bribes, over priced electricity, a myriad licences to set up in business, etc. Cheki that link from FB. A tax break won't solve these underlying problems, which can be dealt with within existing laws and policies.

Anyway, let me help the comic. With the 7 year tax breaks to youths who start businesses, won't that create employment and eradicate poverty??

Of what use would be tax breaks be when we have not demonstrated support to some areas like our agricultural rich nation .Angalia maize , milk ,coffee ,tea and pyrethrum farmers complaining about lack of proper structures in their related fields .Taxing all the inputs and expecting them to survive. Empower those farms and they will generate so much in taxes and the income flow will enable their children to get capital .

Actually I sat down and thought if this document was pro Wanjiku and economic empowerment, Munya doesn't need to go round tea factories mobilizing for change of policies from ktda. They should have captured the policy change in the document.
The only way to put money into farmers pockets is by increasing the prices of tea, coffee and other crops.

Why should I be providing a solution yet there is one in the constitution that politicians refused to adhere to? MPs had more than enough time to discuss and pass the law, yet they didn't.
The reason I ask you for a possible solution is because I have been looking at the problem of gender parity as spelt out in the 2010 constitution and can't seem to find one that does not trigger the very things we complain about such as a bloated wage bill. We cannot leave everything to politicians since the constitution is a blueprint for all our lives.

And it's wananchi to implement and legislate for that constitution?

This is why it will pass. Mark this post.
But as a Mwalimu with so much wisdom I personally expect of you to pass the right message to your friends and family so that if it comes to a referendum the people vote will speak and not the emotions from the aspiring and current politician . Our actions should send a clear message on where we want to be.Let us be the agenyt of changes we need .

I have not said I will not do that but my long experience shows me what those against will be up against. Those against are mainly the loud on social media. While we rant here on social media the MCA and the five fellows who think they will be replacing him will be hitting the ground convincing the voting machines in the wards to support the document. They have the promise of some money to motivate them.

It clearly is a booklet of deceit. Those that have decided to support it have parochial interests.
Our problem is lack of patriotic leadership. Even with a four page constitution and with the right leadership we will do well.
But for now, let us interrogate the pushers of the snake. Therein lies our answer.
Beware of those that call you brother when you cannot see what is in their left hand.

@Okiya if inclusivity is the goal then creating needless positions is not the solution.

The most accurate measure of inclusivity is not really representation, it is in government investment and responsiveness, the people of Turkana say they do not live in Kenya not for lack of representation in cabinet where they have Munyes, it is for the lack of infrastructure, amenities and government support, that is the real measure if inclusivity.

On the question of tax holidays, it is helpful yes but it simply confirms just how lazy and uninterested the political class is on matters economy, it is simply not enough!

Judiciary Ombudsman is a clear attempt to give the President power over the CJ in the JSC, bad for us all.

Abolishing NPSC and replacing it with a body chaired by the CS Interior is the most brazen throwback to the Moi era, the IG needs to be as independent as possible, instead what the BBI does is make him the hand of the President.

And let us not forget that nominated slots in parliament shall be reserved for politicians who fail at the ballot, how does such a self-serving move even gain your approval?

The BBI report is just bad, very bad.
