Sasa the plan is to get all the recommended inputs then start the operation. And before that prepare some place to dump the 14tons of manure.

Ati hio layout ya farm maure hudumpiwa in 500kg dumps all along the road in the middle of the farm tukawacha hio job mara hio hio.
Alafu just months after a serious drought,
Wamasai hawana manure na wale wanayo wanauza vile wanataka.
Na there is no way to mesure exact weight, its by lorry body type and seller simply declares hii ni lorry ya tani 8
Sasa manure itakuja kesho, 2 lorries of 8 - 9 tons. Manure is voluminous and not heavy
It would take a 40foot container trailer to curry 14tons of manure in one trip.

I had thought there would be time later to research and select a walking tractor.
Plans have changed.
Kunahitajika walking tractor sasa, so here is some research I did today:
Ukigoogle "walking tractor kenya" on the first page utapata kitu 5 web sites that have all been put up by the same company. e.g walkingtracktor.co.ke and several others are just web sites.

Power tiller - ya kukoroganisha mchanga that has already been ploughed and harrowed
Ridger - ya kutengeneza raised planting beds
Woodchiper/shredder ya kutengeneza huge volumes of woodchips
All those requirements can be met by one walking tractor with selected options
But that engine is too big for my purposes, ploughing and harrowing has already been done.
There is an italian mini tractor that meetsl my requirements @ Ksh 210k

Hii brand name "power italia" kitu imekosa ni Woodchiper/shredder lakini iko na kitu inaitwa PTO i.e facility to connect a shaft that can drive an engineless Woodchiper/shredder/water pump etc as below
After consultations it was decided the way to handle the 7 acre land preparation with KALRO recommended inputs is to deal with an 1/8th of an acre at a time.
i.e 7 acres = 56 1/8th acre plots, there will be no waiting to get all the 14ton of manure. We got a Ksh 1.5k mini crane scale to measure out the qty of inputs for each 1/8th plot and apply it as follows. (Last column)
Then after that the power tilling can be done to incorporate the inputs.
The 4 tasks of:
Spreading inputs
Power tilling
Creating planting beds
1/8th Plot irrigation piping
Will be going on simultaneously on different plots hadi plot No. 56 - 2 = 54 1/8th plots, 2 whole
plots might be taken up by the 3ft between plots.

3. Planting and harvesting YB before end on 2023.
Is not over, Am fairly confident that land preparation and drip irrigation piping will be fully done on 54 plots by mid to late August. Planting can be done even before September starts.

As duly appointed honorary advisory board consultants (HABC) to this project, ALL KLIST HABC members are hereby tasked with thoroughly and extensively researching the following farming business models for possible directions of PHASE-2 of this project.

- Normal or funny funny vegetables consumed in destination country.
- Various medicinal herbs from which substances are extracted and used to manufacture drugs
- Various funny funny plants from which substances are extracted and used to manufacture cosmetics
2. Local big customer contract farming
- E.g local hotels contract farmers to provide high quality normal or funny funny vegetables
3. Grow/process/package/brand/sell
- Farms that grow, process, package under some brand name and sell directly to outlets
4. Chinese vegetables
- There are some extremely funny funny vegetables that are being grown for the growing local Chinese population and Chinese restaurants.
5. Grow extract/process/package export
- Contracts to grow then process e.g dry/powderize/granulate or extract substances then package and export.
So, each KLIST HABC member needs to start diligently and extensively researching the above farming business models….covering…
- Licence requirements
- Relevant related GOK/COUNTY/NGO/BUSINESS bodies
- GOK and xyz state or international authorities approvals required
- Technical knowhow requirements and sources
- Approximate set up capital requirements
- Requirements/barriers to entry
- Mechanisation requirements
- Personnel numbers, qualifications and training requirements
- Types of farming contracts, pros & cons
- Availability and terms for sub contracting opportunities
- Location and products of example farms
- Unique & general sector challenges
- Presence/absence of cartels and “ukora”
- Updated market data and examples of all funny funny plants and vegetables
- links to farms websites and YT videos of said farming business models locally
and ALL other relevant info on the same.
Thereafter, your research findings should be presented here in neat, clear format.
Then selection, evaluation and viability discussions can begin.
