Nairobi - Scania Edishen

I am not a Futurama fan .
Some years back Isuzu /GM presented a locally assembled bus , and now Scania has introduced a prototype for Nairobbery .
Kusema kweli the Scania is appealing , cost ndio hatujui.

With our resident Dj CK having interest pale GM most probably Isuzu will be ''NMS preferred'' bus.

This whole thing is a failure even before it gets started. Question one: who will operate the BRT. We all know the government cannot run such a service even if we relieved it of all other duties. Worse still, no local firm possesses experience in running any form of mass transportation in a city. Second problem, these locally-fabricated buses are positioning themselves for selection, despite the fact that the fabrication quality is depressing. With the heavy duty cycles that go with BRT, they will become unsightly contraptions within a year. The people pushing the government to acquire BRTs have other intentions. The real challenge lies in running the services, and this is the issue that needs address first.

I know you must have read about the cashless PSV payments that were launched a few days ago... And I would bet that when and if the BRT actually takes off,it will run by KDF.

Do they have the requisite management skills to keep such an outfit running 24/7? I highly doubt.

Disability access?

Once matatus are banned from town this will be the only option whether we like it or not.
All the more reason we need a great deal of professional input in the planning phase. Most BRTs have to do with government subsidies even when run at the most efficient levels. If run inefficiently, not even subsidies can save them.

Mobius 2 ilifika wapi? I only saw them on the road for testing purposes but they haven't been unveiled yet.
Did they get a stamp press for body work? Or they CNC cut the body form?
