My opinion is it shouldn't.
My reason; The full effects of the hallucinogen's more than 400 componds have not been fully studied and their effects on, especially, young ones (under 25s) whose brains are still developing determined. Secondly, the fact that different users have reported different effects from the giggles to moroseness to depression and psychosis in different people tells me we shouldn't make a blanket decision for all.

The discovery of its compounds has led to the further discovery of an important neurotransmitter system called the endocannabinoid system. A number of epidemiological research projects have shown links between dose-related cannabis use and an increased risk of development of an enduring psychotic illness.

Mwalimu; have the same studies been carried out on alcohol? tobacco? other abused prescription drugs?

Why do we demonise the herb yet give a free pass to alcohol when we know it also has a wide range of effects on people, including violence and lack of inhibition (leading to risky sexual and other behaviour)?

I'm not a medical practitioner nor research expert, but I defer to those that have researched and determined that over and above its recreational uses, it can be useful as medical marijuana.

And what I said is that there is still a lot of research needed to be done before it can be declared completely safe so that we make it free even for kindergarten kids if they want.

I agree, research is never a bad thing; it will lead us to learn more about the uses, pros and cons of THC.

Lakini Mwalimu; nobody in their right mind is suggesting it is given to kids as a recreational item!

Acha nitumie elimu as my recourse... watoto hawafunzwi human reproduction wakiwa nursery; lazima akili zikomae kiasi kabla waingie class. Doesn't mean that reproduction is a bad thing..ama?
