A disaster is in the works. They,farmers,particularly in the Mbeere region of Embu county,uprooted other crops,stopped growing others and whole swathes of land were put under muguka. Others put all their savings into buying land for growing this intoxicant. If the markets are no more,ile ufukara inawangoja,if they do not adapt fast,is of gigantic proportions.
Not mentioning the effect on the supply chain. The boda bodas,the crazily driven probox cars,the wholesalers,the motorcycle sellers and mechanics,kumi kumi traders...whole lifestyles might change if the Susultan has his way. Irony is yeye ni mmoja wa consumers.
