Wadau this nation is facing serious and rapid increase in the number of mental disorders. Turbulent times and harsh economic climate isnt helping either. Cases of mental illnesses:suicide, alcohol& drugs misuse, depression..name it all are on a worrying trend. Saddened by cases of adolescent suicide cases being reported.

Almost every family is affected, strange how I thought of posting this today, more like asking for suggestions and how yo assist someone going through depression.
Nimeongea naye mpaka nimeshindwa... Painfully seeing them slip into useless state, yet they don't want help and suggestion, since they feel you're looking down upon them coz you're a bit successful or have a life. So you're forced to pull away to reduce tension and pressure on them.

sometimes i forget my name, i cannot communicate properlly but it comes and goes..,i have been training for quite a while but i think i will catch up.

For me whenever i am about to go down with depression i know.. switch off my phone... and get away from everyone ..and just live a different life for some few days... you wouldnt see me here

Some of the freedoms we enjoy today were not possible during moi's time. It's no secret the guy participated in looting this country and stagnating its development both economic and societal. So yes, whether I like the guy or not, the fact of the matter does not change.

Also, the internet is the great connector. We're now much more aware of things going with people that we don't even know of, instead of relying on the carefully curated news from the state broadcaster. Illnesses and diseases such as cancers and mental health issues, it's not that they did not exist, it's just that we didn't know much about them, or hear about them as often as we do now.

In as much there's better coverage and reporting of incidences of suicide, how often did we hear of teenagers...particularly school going kids committing suicide some 5 or 10 years ago? Its very disheartening.
