How come this is just an issue when it comes in kenya.....if you do a simple google search on the most common problems of that car, gasket never really pops up....the closest they mention is just the radiator cap.

I think the issue hapa kenya is the mechs...wamezoea kufungua engine na kuongeza mashida zingine haziko
That issue waz flagged and most of the vehicles were recalled. As usual some missed out and they have made it into the Kenyan market.

No dealer is going to tell you about this issue but can be mitigated by replacing the part before the problem occurs.

I would think they are very few, there is no way all those cars on the road have the same issue....people are just exergarrating because it has become a popular vehicle. As i have shared above even some audi models are known to have gasket issues but since it is not a popular car, nobody ever talks about it

There is a bit of exaggeration because it was the hottest vehicle on the block then as a result of every other SUV/compact rising in price due to covid. At the time, you could only find the diesel variant. Ungetafuta juu chini na usipate petrol meaning either they were being dumped or smart buyers grabbed up the more reliable petrol cx5 wakabakishia watu hasara.

Na si zote mbaya. It is a specific 2014 line which has been mentioned in a screenshot. But to be safe kubadilisha hiyo gasket is necessary otherwise unatafuta engine mpya.

I read somewhere the problem occur at around a mileage of 50k in cool areas but in tropics it will happen sooner. The best Mazda could do is replace engine every time it failed, but in hot areas like Thai it was a huge problem and they just stopped selling them there. The best they can is replace because they did not make the engine it was outsourced from Europe, modifications are likely to affect the efficiency of the engine. So you are right they were being dumped here probably after the first engine change or before it went kaput

Am no mechanic, so I can not say authorititively.
But it was something to do with rerouting a certain pipe from over to under something.
What pipe and from over what to under what? Why be mean with information that can help many motorists?
