Love languages

Knowing your partner's love language is the best thing that can happen in your relationship.

Your relationship will be in the 'honeymoon phase' forever if psychology is to go by.

You might be wondering why other people are lucky in love, and you're not. Knowing your partner's love language doesn't require 10 years of dating, or 100 years of marriage, they are the simple little things that happen around us.

Someone once told me that love is not enough to sustain a relationship, you can love someone but you don't trust them, or you can love someone and you still hurt and cheat on them. I'm not condemning cheating neither am I advocating for it, but trials in a relationship are many and people go through hell to be together forever.

Little wisdom aside, if you've never heard of 'love languages' this is for you, but if you're aware of the love languages, what's your love language?

There are five love languages and each describes the expression of love to one another;
  • Quality time
  • Physical touch
  • Gift
  • Act of Service
  • Words of Affirmation

1. Quality time

Quality time in relationships is all about undivided attention, just being with your partner, no phones, televisions or a third party. If partners love language is quality time, you out to know by now. They like attention and being together with their partner every single time if they're available. If you cancel plans of spending time together like going for dates, you'll notice a change of tone and behavior(s). They are not obsessed but want to spend their quality time with their loved ones.

2. Physical touch

People with this love language, enjoy touching their partner and being touched. You'll notice your partner holding your hands in public, or just hugging you all the time. Don't confuse this with PDA, they just feel ok while holding you or hugging all the time. If you've noticed this, embrace it since that's how they feel loved.

3. Gift

Who doesn't loke gifts? This is the most common love language amongst lovers. This love language doesn't necessarily have to be a physical or materialistic gift. You can gift your partner with a favorite destination or something you think will make them feel loved.

4. Act of Service

Do actions speak louder than words for you? Do you like being assisted around the house? Then this might be your most dominant love language.

Act of Service is generally doing things that your lover would be thrilled seeing you doing it on her behalf. Services, like cleaning the house, cooking, doing laundry and washing the utensils are all Act of service that makes your partner feel more loved whenever you do these, this love language is common in both men and women.

5. Words of Affirmation

Words of Affirmation express love with use of words such as 'i love you', 'you are beautiful/handsome', 'I love your make up' and so on. Whenever you affirm your partner with such words, they feel loved.

If you notice that your partner loves it whenever you compliment them or have a change of mood when you don't then, words of affirmation are their love language.

To know your love language, there are certain sites and apps that help you do the test to know and determine your love language, you can visit https://www.5lovelanguages.com/ for the test.

You can do this alone or with your partner. I'd you to have the test with your partner in order to know more about them.

Grade what?
this system is not only for primary school ! it will cover across board, junior and senior schools, TVET and university education
its skill based and you can only acquire these through practical exposure.
...back to the issues at hand , in life and more so in marriage you don't a set curriculum , no reference ! unatubukiza hio kitu yako either umezwe ,ukufe ana uzame .The way the two of you if not more survive Only God can tell ! BUT ALWAYS REMEMBER HIS IS EVERYTHING IN YOUR LIFE !

These things are good when young but when up there, number 4 (act of service) becomes predominant. Hizo zingine don't make sense
I beg to differ, all remain important, depending with your relationship and culture. Women still like to feel all those things even in old age.
