Ladies and gentlemen the "woke" idiots have decided to destroy Lord of the rings. Inasemekana this thing cost Bezos an estimated $1B. Going by the tweet reaction hii series inakaa kuflop when it comes out.

You're fist-fighting the wind. Just watch the shows you like and ignore the ones you don't. You dismiss a lot of shows/movies before they even come out!
As for LOTR series, I presume this will either feature little known characters or a brand new story written just for this show. Would you say Tauriel ruined The Hobbit? They added this female character cuz the movie was a sausage fest. Same thing as here.
I would rather they come up with fresh characters because almost everyone knows the fate of the main female characters (Galadriel, Arwen, Eowyn, etc)
EDIT: One last thing, Twitter, Reddit, and YouTube have the most radical, snappish, bitchy crowd in all of internet. So many things flamed by this crowd do fine. You over-estimate their 'power'.

Purpose of marketing is to attract viewers, so when they market a series as woke they are telling the audience its going to be boring.
But I loved all lord of the rings movies including The hobbit.
It is a prequel so they will still use the same main characters. Going by the current trend I will assume they are trying to do a reboot.
And there are many others that flopped eg Birds of prey being an example.

Birds of Prey was just a bad movie. The ones that received the relentless backlash for months supposedly for being 'woke' e.g. Captain Marvel (1B+ gross), TLoU2, etc did more than fine. Most people will consume something if it's good/entertaining to them and won't care about the woke level. I don't even know what woke means tbh.

Anything with a Marvel logo sells, right now Marvel is like apple their logo has weight.
Did you hear alot ppl who watched say "Captain Marvel was awesome is one of my favourite characters" We all know the movie sold well because Disney smartly marketed it as a must watch in order to follow the most anticipated movie: Endgame.
I do not know anything about TLoU2 since the last console I owned was ps2.
In the past woke used to mean ppl who rise against oppression but now the far-left westerners have corrupted it.
