The airline industry will be changed forever by this virus. Even when restrictions are lifted, there will be much less luxury travel because people will be working more to savings. Companies will have adjusted to video conferencing so their travel will be reduced. So it's not advisable to buy KQ.
I see you have been ramaging through David Ndii's tweets. His is a very negative outlook.

Insurance companies je?
Although market penetration ya insurance is very low in kenya which makes it attractive even for global insurance companies, competition is tough. Nowadays banks sell insurance products. Plus insurance dont make money from selling their policies, most of their money comes from investing in things like real estate. So when analysing insurance, have a keen interest on performance of real estate

Can you foresee KQ hitting 3 Bob anywhere within the next 5 years?

No this is not from David Ndii. I follow Alex Macheras to get insights about airline industry.
I just received an email update from Qatar. I had assumed most passenger airplanes were grounded apart from cargo planes

the only stocks I can trust in Kenya are: Safaricom, EABL, Kengen and the Banks.

The rest that na dawa siwezi guza
Banks are the most secure and safaricom. What happened to Nation media, ama social media gave them a run for their money

KQ is actually a risky bet likely to be well worth it. 172k is enough to get you 200,000 shares.
There is more upside than downside. You bet I will throw a bag at this stock.

At what point will the govt say enough is enough and stop bailing them out?

I would invest in what is getting consumed now. Safaricom tops them, phombe na chakula and a little investment in tech. Just the basics. Replicate your domestic budget.

Which listed company in Kenya is free from manipulation?
Reminds me the likes of African Cable that were the blue eyed boys but are in the doldrums today.
If I had money to burn/gamble, I would go with an agric, logistics, health or security based companies
Travel, hospitality, construction will not recover soon. Parastatals are also a big no too
Edit
Media another big no

I find him realistic, the only reason KQ haijaanguka is because wakubwa who lease planes to it are eating leasing money
Most national carriers are run at a loss. Very few are profitable let alone African carriers. Still, we are in unprecedented times. We have massive loans, government is deferring payments on gov bonds and revenue collections are already down on top of the tax relief.

Shit is really looking like hitting the fan in the short term.

I am not sure we will recognise Kenya on the other side of this virus. It is bettee people continue going to work and playing cat and mouse with the virus and whoever survives, survives. Because, if there is anything the past few months has proved, we are on our own.

Gatheca is looking out for his businesses and nothing elss.

Africa huwa hivyo everyday. with just say $200 you can travel to say 3-4 destinations in Europe. But hiyo haitoshi ndege ya Nairobi - Zanzibar and back
Nope. Before Corona the traffic was high. Apart from Ethiopian airlines, several European and Arabian airlines, now grounded, were overflying Africa but sahii they're grounded. At any given time there would be at least three A380s over Africa ikielekea S.America or opposite direction towards Comoros and Sychelles, among other models.
