What a surprise !
Lakini sky line ya African continent ime kauka. Traffic ya ndege iko chini mbaya sana.
Traffic is always low in Africa, virus or not. It's a good thing or bad, depending on your outlook on things like pollution. Business wise it shows we don't have enough traffic within Africa, that can be attributed to lifestyles or spending power.

Without a vaccine or cure, airtravel as we know it is dead. Who will board a plane and share the same air with 200 plus other passengers of unknown medical history, will passengers be quarantined before or after their flights.....
Might have to configure planes with personalized air supply,
Air travel will never be the same again.
As such airlines like KQ are a big no

There have been two big financial crises in history. The great depression of 1929 and the great recession of 2007. Although no two crises are the same, we can learn something from them. The aftermath of the great depression was the shrinking of the wealth of the top wealthy individuals. The aftermath of the great recession was an increase in the wealth of the top wealthy individuals.

From what am reading, Wall Street’s savviest investors are already pulling out their 2008 playbooks. The basic idea: Pay discount prices for ailing businesses and other distressed assets now, then cash in later when everything bounces back.

And I think right now is the time for someone to consider investing in he stock markets. Why am I saying so? The truth is when Uhuru announces his rescue package to SMEs the markets will recover. So before you put your shilling in the stock market, here is my list of 13 things you need to study first. Different people will have different lists.

1. What is your investment strategy i.e. long vs short term
2. What is the revenue, operating profit and net profit of the company for the last 5 years
3. What is the stock price history of the company for the last 5 years
4. Balance sheet in terms of overall level of debt, assets and liabilities, debt to equity ratio
5. Historical dividend per share for the last 5 years
6. What is the Price earnings ratio
7. What is the Price to book ratio
8. How does the Company's future look?
9. What are the industry risks and opportunities facing the company?
10. How big is the company in terms of market capitalization
11. Who are the directors and management
12. Who are the existing shareholders e.g. government or private individuals?
13. Publicity of the company i.e. is it positive or negative

It's possible but the airline
That right there makes it worth it.
During the hot months of the year, bulls re sold like peanuts. If you are patient enough, you can buy one at 20k and sell at 50k in less than an year. That's exactly the situation with KQ now. It is a potentially healthy cow, but the drought is hitting it hard.

KQ has been a sick cow for many years and the drought in the airline industry is not a passing cloud. Where will KQ take all its planes and we're aware idle capacity has a cost

It has been sick for long, yes, but the price is likely to X5 in the next 5 years. That's all that counts. You're not after dividends here.

What will make the price increase by X5?
KQ, like every other business affected by the virus, will resume operations and come out limping. The government, while reviving other sectors, will inject serious cash into the airline. And voila! The price hits 5.

KQ will resume operations as you say but who will they be flying apart from cargo? People will resume flying as they did before when there is a vaccine and their incomes return to where they were

Business will resume very soon. The world has survived worse pandemics and returned to its feet. This is no exception. And with a chance to restructure now, the pandemic will leave most businesses leaner, more efficient and profitable. KQ included. Don't be surprised if KQ reports profits in the next two years.

Who will be flying?
Flying isn't a luxury, it is a need for businessmen and governments. Vaccine or not. And anyway a vaccine isn't far away from being found.

Yes, businesses will resume but not all. Airline wont resume as before. Sports will not resume as before. There is no way KQ will report profits in the next two years.

Flying has changed. The businessmen who were flying will not all resume as before. Same as governments. Everyone will be cost cutting.

Very true, that's one strange thing African states haven't addressed and is also a barrier to African inter trade.
It may also be because of demand, Ethiopian has flights to several African destinations.
