You have many options when it comes to housing dubia cockroaches. You can keep them in buckets with a ventilated lid will work as well, unused bathtubs and be sure to cover your ventilation holes with a fine metal mesh or mosquito net to prevent escapes or or pest insects from entering. Put a few egg trays stack together as they give birth and sleep/hide there.
Food
kitchen scraps, chicken, cow & goat manure, rotting leaves, greens and fruits will do but do not feed them meat.
Breeding
Constantly cull off the males for efficient breeding( 1 male for 5 females) males are winged unlike females.
Unlike the regular Roaches, dubia give birth to 20 or more nymphs after a 30 day gestation and the mothers take care of them. The nymphs eat their parents poop until old enough to eat other stuff.
Give them water and use a sponge to prevent drowning.
As long as the place is warm and humid they will multiply exponentially.
You can feed them to chicken as supplements while using their frass/poop as manure.
This is more of a solution than a business venture cutting down the cost of feed.
You can buy them online or can hunt them down infact they live with chickens and the only thing that prevents them from being consumed is that they are nocturnal.
