Kulea kuku issa throw. Hatching chicks is the thing... 1 day old ni mia tu. Expenses are minimal,cost of eggs and power.
Different incubators

The small one has already hatched for removal tomorrow.
And the chicks ready for market for 130-150 for up to two weeks old. At two weeks a chick will have consumed .5kgs of chickmash.

Like @Muhura_Ndore says,hii ni biz ya ukiendanga. Unaziangalia asubuhi unaenda kwingine...

PS: The chicks up there are 105. At a minimum of 120/chick,next week Tuesday nitalala na viatu... And the clincher,you get chicks hatching every four days.

Nimeongeza stock. 100 1 month old at 250. Maturity at 4-5 months. Mayai yake ni 20 = 600 per tray. Jogoo mzima 1k to 1.5 k, mwera 700-900.
Damage about 60k. Labour ni kiasi. Wekea food mingi na maji asubuhi na uzidi pilka pilka zingine za kunukisha kitunguu. Pig sty hapo chini. Will post a thread once its completed.

This thread is an eye-opener for anybody with half-a-brain. The way you guys have achieved self-sufficiency in meat and eggs is just awesome. Very inspiring, especially considering that its entirely a DIY thing.

If you allow me to pontificate, this is what is lacking among many of us in this country. You will find our educated people just sitting there waiting for salos eti they are intellectuals/lecturers whatever - and am not targeting any group here - and drinking endlessly in NRB West (I stand accused) instead of dirtying their hands and coming up with viable solutions to our problems.

Hope am not messing up an epic thread but if I don't put pictures of my own barn and chickens here in the next few months then I am a liar.

Think I will also go commercial. Nyama na mayai kwangu pia huwa inakosa wakulanji. The best thing with improved kienyenji is that they just lay eggs without sitting on them, Saa mayai inakuwa mingi. So unatafuta pure kienyenji kadhaa za kukalia mayai na kuhatch tuchicks. Mimi nimezieka tu free range kama hamsini hivi. Chicks, kuku yenyewe ndio inakalia na kulea tu chicks , stima niliachana nayo

Formula ya chakula za nguruwe ndio nataka kujaribu mahindi zikitoka kwa shamba August. Nimerudisha nguruwe. African swine flu and foot and mouth ziko area deadly. Very killer diseases. Avoid visitors ikiwezekana. Nikama tu corona
