then they would have to be voted in by the public...
Not necessarily. UK can just appoint them as long as the right documents have been signed kama ile ya sonko.

Do you mean retired? Officers of the rank of Major and above keep their titles for life.

Is there a law that says that officers in active duty cannot be deployed in civil service? Someone give the specific act nijisomee.
Having one foot in the army and the other in civil service (and abit of politics) doesn't sit well with me.its not law.it might not end well.

after being decommissioned you still retain your title

Personally I don't mind. Badi is doing well in Nairobi so am hoping the standards will be maintained in these new areas where military is getting in. Hata airport na KPA should be given to military men
Mimi sipendi watu hukua impressed na vitu kama cabro blocks pavements bila kuona the bigger picture i.e this whole militarisation thing is about Uhurus post 2022 plans.

It is not in the constitution, but a part of the reforms that Tonje brought to the KDF. Military officers who are moved to civillian offices will have to retire unless recalled by the President. Getting a written copy ndio shida.

It happened to my own father when he was moved to a certain civilian office.

Explain to us in detail the bigger picture about Badi's appointment.
The bigger picture of Badi and militarisation is to big for me to explain to wanjiku level types who do not already see the big picture for themselves.

For senior officers that are at the peak of their careers, that's ok. Hawa wengine

You have been sold a fallacy which you have bought hook line and sinker. His family and friends are implicated in theft and you are here by extension stating that the current civil service has failed the presidency. Take a look at West Africa and Mexico....no sober leader allows the military to be involved in governance only mad men such as North Korean leader, current US president, UG president, Mali govt., Zimbabwe (basket case) etc.....
Do you consider Magufuli and Kagame as mad men? They have also involved their military in governance to get things done.

The military should keep off civilian affairs. If they have to join civil service, then they shall leave military duties.

This is Captain Morgan's biggest fail yet....to throw out the Constitution he swore to protect....na the one must be revisited.

Bonobos never cease to amaze. Even when things are being done to make their lives better, they keep yelling and yelping like they have the itch of a thousand fleas up their rectums.

Eti militarisation. Eti Uhuru wants to stay on. Bla bla bla bla...............

Uhuru is generally a failure but on this I support him like Okiya. Uhuru has realised that whichever civilian he puts in sensitive dockets is easily co-opted/intimidated by cartels. Which is why he is appointing the members of the biggest, worsetest cartel - the one with jets and tanks - to push through things.

It started with the Immigration Dept where Indians and Somalis were buying citizenship on the streets before he appointed Gen. Kihala-something. Now, look at what Badi is doing, great stuff.

While exchange of ideas is healthy, I find this endless whining and complaining about every gavament initiative to be very tiresome honestly.
