To the family of George Floyd. I stand by you as the murder trial of Derek Chauvin gets underway.The sad part is that George Floyd is not on trial. Derek Chauvin is on trial, to tell his side of the story. A luxury that was not afforded to George Floyd and countless other men and women within the Black community.
There is no way to get around the fact that George Floyd would likely still be alive today if he hadn't taken lethal doses of fentanyl and then resisted arrest after committing a felony.

I watched the opening remarks by the defense lawyer and I wanted to shout at him for implying that because Floyd resisted arrested he deserved to die! Really? To the family justice will be served.
