There was a time when students joining high school had to buy a hockey stick as one of the required items, even though less than 5 percent ever got to use them. I wonder who came up with this clever money-minting scheme, where hockey sticks imported from India would retail at 20 times what they cost in India. The video below shows how they make hockey sticks in Pakistan in artisanal settings using fairly basic machines.
