That would rightly kill the sacco which would be OK by me. I cannot engage you in whataboutism. My advice is on a take it or leave it basis. It is your duty as an investor to come up with a strategy that protects your investments from foreseeable losses. No one will do it for you. So you have a choice of acting proactively or waiting kulia serikali saidia. Anytime unasikia watu wanaanza projects zenye hazishikani na main objective ya organisation, jua tuu katanuka at some point. Examples:-
  1. Mwalimu Sacco buying a bank. What competitive advantage were they coming with seeing as it was that we had over 40 commercial banks some of whom were struggling,
  2. Lake Basin Development Authority building a shopping mall,
  3. KU engaging in commercial activities that bled it to an extent of nearly going bankrupt,
  4. JKUAT, an agriculture and technology university, purchasing a building right in the CBD.

Numbers 2,3 and 4, are government institutions with no private investor for profit.

Also your argument is not entirely true, if you had invested in safaricom and they said that they will start a money transfer service, you would have pulled out? Equity bank started as a building society before engaging in a new strategy, nakumat also did not start as a supermarket.

The point is that its the leadership that matters and not change of strategies or divertion from the main objectives, those change all the time
