Very commendable of Raila to throw his weight behind somebody else in 2027. It is a trait we thought deficient in him.
Whether it be for patriotism, limitations due to age or for promissory obligation is neither here or there. It is the right move for the country and his adoring fans. He has served well and all good things must come to an end at some point.

The biggest question of the day is going to be whether Kalonzo, with all his “watermelon” baggage, “kupitia katikati” and “your name betrays you” fame can rise to the occasion and galvanise Kenyans against an unpopular President.
Can he and is he able to unite people behind a united cause?

Just remember that Kalonzo failed his running mate interview.
