That is a hit or miss market tafadhali. I know of someone who specializes in salvage vehicles and I tell you, you will never know you are driving a Frankenstein vehicle until you are in an accident and the front portion of your vehicle is sheared clean off in proper halves. As you regain consciousness unaangalia nyuma unapata boot na rear seats hakuna.
Ama Una enda upgrade ya rear door speakers and on removing the door card Unapata mlango ziko na rangi different .
And you had bought it from "one owner since import , accident free , Asian owned , original paint "

There are several ways of telling a salvage. That said, what guarantee do you have that the "new" 2014 car ain't a salvage? Pre-import inspection you say?

I found that most of units sold locally from Japan are from JPC trade auction .It doesn't matter who sold it TCV,Autocom,SBT or yards pale Mombasa .With the chassis number and YOM you can dig the auction archives and you will get the auction sheet indicating auction grade .
I have tried this for a couple of vehicles and managed to get data and this is one thing that made me to discourage anyone from buying a unit from yards in Mombasa unless you can't wait to ship a unit from Japan.

i think pia shida yetu nivile we have a limited supply of market where we source our "new" vehicles. I think it's time also kenya switch from left to right we would have a huge market to source our vehicles including china. sahi it's either japan/Singapore or the UK as the main points.
Time we import units even from Russia. Prices will come down drastically.

Kenyans, unlike other nationalities, don't respect their money. I don't see 2 point something million in a Honda Vezel. There are good quality used vehicles out their for 2m. Basically you can get more car for 2m if you decide to step aside from "new" used mitumbas.
Actually you can get a brand new showroom car for 1.5m, why go for used new, used used!

Hmmm, a used Kenyan car that imekanyaga a million potholes Vs a Japanese one that has plied the super smooth highways of Japan? Will not even think twice having had experiences with both.

This isn't the first time I'm seeing you criticizing car imports. What is wrong with using a reputable import company to get a mutumba as you say from Japan?
