The word 'nature' derives from Latin 'natura' linked to birth, procreation, propagation or growth. The classical view of nature was how things propagate with time as intended, i.e. the natural order of things.
Most people's view of nature is a green environment, trees and what not. This modern outlook loses the richer and broader classical view.
To the issue at hand, looking at it from a more classical view, a union between a man and a woman will create new life, i.e the natural order of things that led to you and I being here at this moment in time. Therefore, the union between a man and man or woman and woman is unnatural because it does not create new life. It does not contribute to propagation with the passage of time and therefore violates nature.
Same sex couples who want to have children are forced to adopt children. We don't need to guess how these children were conceived (clue - it happened naturally). It follows that same sex couples cannot propagate themselves naturally.
So how do they get around this? From my viewpoint, the only way is to propagate the idea, because it cannot be propagated by flesh. This is done via a luxury only available in the 20th century onwards thanks to technology. Mass media broadcasting to condition the masses.
