What a pathetic interface to implement; there’s already a lot of attrition, venerable members have been missing since the change, and I can bet they won’t be coming back.

“Kijiji iko chonjo” is the predictable, stale, stupid, vacuous response whenever members raise a complaint, ask questions, or even make a suggestion. Now, we must ask ourselves questions regarding the new owners of the village. Do they just want “yes men” of their staff, or do they prefer competent workers that can give solid advice regarding the direction the village is taking? Do they just want to remain in an echo chamber? Because if it were a serious person the answer is obvious to me.

What made the late Wanderi's original KenyanList great is that niche of getting news before it broke on the mainstream channels, the inetrraction, debate and response to it.

Then came KenyaTalk with the demise of KenyanList around 2015.

It was really vibrant in those initial years before the admin(s) & moderators started accessing and reading personal inbox messages. It saw an exodus of a lot of members but still kind of withstood that test.

The moderation was lacking and it spiralled down to a juvenile playground with matusi. Once in a while, one could chance upon engaging posts that were informative with sprinkles of nuggets of wisdom.

The new UI is its death knell.
