Social Capital. It's the reason we join these clubs. Nothing else. Don't lie to yourself that "golf" is my sport of choice. Nop! Goal is to build Social capital.

There is a reason corporations insist that their top executives fly first or business class with free access to airport lounges. Sitting next to a fellow passenger with all sorts of business connections is a big plus. Imagine 9 -14 hrs on flight contact.
But if you end up next to an athlete, sports personality, famous entertainer, or a Kenya slay queen socialite quietly ask the cabin crew to be relocated if there are extra seats. Same social access or social capital opportunities exist more frequently at those exclusive clubs.

Field Marshall is also right. Just join a cheaper club elsewhere for reciprocity even they are restrictive.
Better still, look for a Club Life member to recommend you for temporary membership on days you want access.
