Greatest common divisor and least common multiple,
Leo nimekaa chini nikirelax akili ikanikumbusha hizi vitu, inakaa the stress caused by these two maths concepts caused them to be unforgettable, of what use are these things, why were we being forced to learn these concepts which I personally have never applied? Which other things have you learnt but never found use for?

really, and you program? Ama you only do front end design and never touch databases?
In my case, steel reinforcement comes in 12m pieces, steel tubes, pipes and timber sections come mostly in 6m pieces. You have a site, with whatever dimensions, you need to reduce offcuts and joints in your work, you have to reason out with multiples while doing your math

In life you learn so much but it takes an extra effort to filter what really matters which will get you rich and earn enough wealth that will be enjoyed by every generation of your children

It's only that your limited education only enabled you to get low skill jobs otherwise there are those in science and engineering fields who use those and more on a daily basis in their line of work.

I talk in terms of .5,1,1.5,2,2.5,4,6inches and 10,20 feet. Reducers from of varying circumferences, 45°,90° bends...calculating degrees of slope, and calculating pressure per inch of circumference for various installations needs mazematics I learnt through to form four.
Some stuff I thought I would never use.

Wewe unasumbuliwa na GDC and LCM? Wueh!

Show me a day to day programming problem that would require gcd or lcm

thats just back of the envelope maths you do on site, what we do in the office when you have doubts about models, achana nayo
You work in a steel fabrication plant, which sector are you in structural, plumbing, oil & gas?

You don't filter anything...you put it all in a bank somewhere in your hard disk and call it out when you need it. There are times I surprise myself with some knowledge until I ask myself where did I get know that from?
