Freedom has finally knocked on the door of Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa after the court on Wednesday quashed the case that he was accused of involving in a Sh38 million fraud.
Nick is set to go back to his office after stepping down as FKF boss in November 2021. His duties were immediately transferred to the federation's deputy president, Doris Petra.
In 2021 the then Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed ordered the Sports Registrar to conduct an inspection at Kandanda House, where the office of Mwendwa was allocated.
In the report released by the Sports Registrar, the team recommended the removal of FKF officials from office to pave way for further investigation. It was at this point that the Lindah Ogutu led-caretaker committee took over.
The caretaker committee took over the running of the game for six months before paving the way for the transition committee that oversaw the federation’s day-to-day activities between May to October.
