Current Premier League holders Manchester City looked like they were on their way to another title a few months ago, but have since dropped points against Tottenham, Southampton and Crystal Palace and it sees the gap to just a single point. Despite setting extremely high-performance standards, Pep Guardiola’s side have been made to regret those slip ups due to the pressure Liverpool are putting on them with their excellent form. All eyes are on the league meeting between the two sides on the 10th April at the Etihad Stadium, which will no doubt have a major say on the eventual title winners. But if the run-in are anything to go by, then you have to say it look far more favourable for Man City who will avoid any top seven side from now till the end of the season. Liverpool, meanwhile, have to play the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and Wolves who also have European places to play for.

Aside from the title race there is an interesting battle for the Champions League places between the usual suspects Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United outsiders West Ham and Wolves could make a late push. The Gunners have a game in hand on fifth-placed Tottenham and Manchester United who sit sixth, but have to play both before the end of the season. We’ve seen Mikel Arteta’s side set up one of their most exciting ends to a season in years, and while they the lesser lights this season but in matches against the stronger squads, they have failed to live up to the highest standards. Man Utd are focusing fully on Premier League matters now after crashed out of every other tournament and go another season no doubt without silverware, They lost in the Champions League at the hands Atletico Madrid but there’s still some questions about their ability defensively

Burnley and Watford are the favourites to join the Canaries in the Championship next season, with all three making up the relegation places right now. Watford have been far from attractive on the eye under Roy Hodgson, but they have an highly experienced operator under the belt that has the potential to get decent defensive efforts out of his side when they need it most. It’s make or break for talented attackers such as Ismaila Sarr, Joao Pedro and Cucho Hernandez. The Hornets’ chances are rather bleak, with the top three still to play, but with their opponents being Chelsea on the final day of the campaign, the Blues struggle when it comes to motivation if they’ve already wrapped up top four.Watford have gone to Southampton and Aston Villa and won recently and with games against Burnley, Leeds and Everton coming up, they could drag them into the mix if they pull off some big victories.

Everton haven’t been impressive this season, far from it. And even under Rafa Benitez, results were underwhelming after a decent start to the campaign and the football was so tough to watch that Toffees fans exit the grounds early. Some argue they would’ve likely survived with the Spaniard still at the helm but a bizarre move by the Everton hierarchy saw them bring in Frank Lampard, a manager with a completely different style, making many nervous whether he can avoid the drop. Looking at the run-in, it’s a tough one, even if they have games in hand, it’s hard to see them picking up many points.Based on performance data since he took over, Everton as comfortably a bottom three side.Brentford, Leeds and Newcastle are expected to stay up after a pick up in form. That leaves Burnley quaking in their boots. They have a couple of games in hand on those around them but they will have to play most midweeks, making for a busy conclusion.
