Eldoret Express Bus Company is one of the most affordable and dependable bus companies in Kenya, providing transportation from the western and Rift Valley regions to Nairobi, the country's capital city.

The company started in 1982 with Nissan UD buses and registered as Eldoret Express Cooperative Company in 1985. The company had Isuzu and Scania buses with locally made bodies from Kenyan body fabricators. The buses were well designed to meet customers' satisfaction. The company also provides parcel transfer services to all destinations at fair prices depending on the nature and size of the parcel.

The company is owned by a businessman known as Mr. Wainaina who saw an investment opportunity in the transport sector, and as a result, he decided to venture into transport by branding the buses Eldoret Express. Eldoret Express Company is the registered name, and Mr. Joseph Ng'anga was the operating manager.

The following were famous routes for Eldoret Express Buses; Nairobi-Nakuru-Kericho-Kisumu-Kakamega-Mumias-Nambale

During the KAM number plate era, the company unleashed 25 plus buses. All Isuzu save for the two Scania F93s, Duke and Duchess, in below pics.

Duke and Duchess. After this, Muigai unleashed Scania F94s. Very few are running today. KAN 466E is among them.

In late 2020, the company launched a new F360 6x2 bus that those of us who frequent A104 might have spotted. Not sure if the company will ever recover though.

Most bus companies would rather invest in more drivers to increase more trips than mechanics to maintain the fleet.
Unapata Kuna one mechanic servicing 5 buses per day. Chances he will brush off so many things to approve the bus to the next trip.
Also companies should replace or buy new buses every year because road accidents are caused by mechanical failures Kama brakes but majority choose to ignore

Thanks for drawing my attention to the previous post. Nice stuff. Now, tell me about single axle buses. Si most all are driven by rear wheels? So a live axle at the back? Ama unmean those with two sets at the back? What's the physics?
The physics some fellow villagers might explain better. Just saw them being criticised at launch and soon after, the accident happened.
