A clerk working for an upcountry bus company was saved by police from angry passengers who were unhappy that their journey had been delayed. According to reports by a local publication, the passengers travelling to Busia from the city were annoyed at being kept at Modern Coast booking office for six hours. The travellers turned their anger on the clerk for giving them false promises that their bus, which was to leave the city at 9am was about to pick them at the boarding point along Accra road. Central Sub-County Police Commander David Baariu said that he sent officers to the booking office after receiving complaints from the travellers. Baariu said "My officers arrived on time and saved the clerk from being beaten as the customers even wanted to break the bus offices demanding a refund of their money,"
