Kemri is broke, joke on you
you know what they say about a lie being repeated so many times. people who do not interrogate information or those looking for information to support their negative beliefs jump on it and make it their mantra.

Froma statistics, it is clear that whenever they choose to open up whether its tomorrow or next year, the cases are going to shoot up. My question is and always has been, what plan does the government have of opening up the country and the economy?
How much power does the government have over my choices? Will the government force me back to what used to be my favourite watering hole while I think its unsafe? Will the government force me to eat the juicy street mutura (my favourite) while I think the risks are too high?

Mimi na crew hatubanduki!

You have your choices, but the government has to facilitate the business men in your watering hole and the mutura seller to start up their livelyhoods in a safe, cautious and progressive way...i know you are well off and are willing to stay indoors for the whole year if need be, but you are the minority and if you choose can still continue with that lifestyle, but let others who have no choice start up their livelyhoods, the virus is here to stay and eventually it will get to everybody

it is not what i think. the budget document is a public document go do yourself some justice.
You have avoided my question but still answered it all the same, whether the referendum budget is 50 million or 50 billion, that is money that can be used to strengthen the healthcare system. Yes, no?

For one stop with the damn polarising politics and galvanize the country. Give proper updates on what the government is planning on doing now and in future especially in light that the corona virus is here to stay. Make testing available to the people who need it most for free. Have a solid plan on how they will jump start the economy. Start mass testing and provide more resources and a higher budget to the health system.....there is a lot that can be done that the government is not doing

1. Politics will be there with or without covid-19 disease. Lookup 'politics' in your favourite dictionary.

2. I agree with you on getting government updates regarding this disease. The problem is, no one knows where this disease is going to take us. The best placed knowledgeable people are epidemiologist. Do you have reasons to believe that the government of Kenya has not been listening to them?

3. Who needs mass testing? Why? We need mass testing done to essential workers and vulnerable areas.

4. You could plan to gradually open the economy. However, you need to learn from countries that have been opening up like South Korea to identify vulnerabilities. For instance, its risky to open night clubs.

I absolutely agree on making my local watering hole safe and opened for business. It's not been possible for now so we do take away. My local mutura guy never closed! All he does is cut your favourite bite under intense heat, onaenda kujipanga huko mbele.

We need a lot of cooperation across the private sector so that we dont have this disease spreading all over. People underestimate the effect that the massive outbreak of this disease could have on our economy. You go to buy supplies from supplier A but their account signatory is off sick!

How does this even help you an unemployed person when you can't get hired?

No we are coming to an agreement. Already 130,000 Kenyans have lost their jobs and yet there is no plan from the government on the way forward...that question you have asked is the same one we arw all asking the government

The government has not fired its workers. Has it?

The majority of workers have been fired from the private sector. They have been fired because the government said its unsafe to congregate, so we had to close restaurants, bars , churches and even private clubs.

I believe its unsafe to go to any of those places even if the government did not object to opening them up. Do you think I'm in the minority? Why should i hang out at your place and get infected tomorrow?

Why is your business more important than my life?

Nobody is forcing anybody to go out, you can still stay indoors if you choose, however, since the virus is here to stay, there is need for a forward looking plan, people have to do business, not just restaurants but even public transport needs to resume so that commerce can continue. Ofcourse there as to be caution in all of this but life must continue.

I absolutely agree. We have to find a way of opening the economy. The problem with this disease is that we know very little about it. You are asking for certainty in planning while its impossible to make long term plans. Look at South Korea for example. They opened night clubs only to find that they were a new source of infections.

We know for sure that this virus is here to stay. Nobody knows how to progress forward, this is where exemplary leadership comes in (hii ofcourse hatuna juu ni ulevi fulltime) look at Ghana, SA, South Korea and other countries, they are not waiting to copy from each other, they are showing leadership and being fluid with the situation, adaptive leadership.

Ama you are suggesting that we wait for other countries and see what they do as we sit by and wait to copy?

What is it that they are doing that we are not doing?
