Covid-19 preparedness: Will Kenya get to this level?

Coronavirus cases in Kenya has risen to 39,449 after 22 tested positive in the last 24hrs.

So far 27,035 have recovered and 735 died. When the first Corona cases was announced in Kenya, guidelines were issued and all Kenyans were expected to follow them.

In fact, the early days of Covid-19, police were arresting individuals who were not following the rules. We are now in October and the rules don't matter anymore.

Citizens are now free to do what they want, no mask, no keeping the distance and oh, people stopped washing their hands the moment President Kenyatta extended the Nationwide curfew for the second time.

Is KENYA's fight against Covid-19 on the right path? Are there measures put in place to ensure that every citizen follows the guidelines proved by WHO? Or as they say, "May the best immune system win."

Today, final year students of the universities and technical institutions reported back to school and by the look of things, no strict measure have been put in place to ensure that the spread of Coronavirus will be managed/contained.

Education CS has been on television preparing parents psychologically for reopening of schools and if you ask me, I would say that the reopening should be put on hold.

The temperature check at the entry of malls and buildings doesn't look legit to me, they seem faulty and washing of hands over and over in a day is the most difficult thing to do on a regular day. But we move regardless.

Thailand has come up with measures, and I must admit I'm in awe! At the entrance of buildings and mall, there are electric machines that check whether an individual has a mask on. The machine also measure the temperature of an individual.

If you pass all the tests, which include an average body temperature, you are wearing a mask and you have sanitised your hand, the door will automatically open, else, you won't be allowed into the building.

Scotland has adopted the same in their schools and the students are safe.

Will Kenya be able to pull this out before reopening schools? Or should we wait for another scandal? Only time will tell

There's no willpower to do anything in this country if some idiots cannot make money out of it. If it makes sense.
I mean the priority is how much money can we make out of a project, not how can the project benefit people
