Corruption is part of our DNA

Corruption is part of our DNA. The other day, my friend Matini had a quarrel with his wife, over many suspicions of having plans of outside. She decided to involve wazee from Matini's family, to try and intervene and solve the matter. A sitting was called one Saturday, where Matini and the wife were summoned. She had lots of evidence, especially screenshots of Matini borrowing and receiving nudes from all manner of persons, including woria/shumarí. Her defence was very tight. Matini called us that Friday before the day of the case, and we met at 2pm, together with Kafro and another wise man called Mutha (Greek for Moses). Matini bought one mzinga and asked us only one question; Nifanyeje??
By 4pm, we had a solution. Matini beat his car fire and went to his gicagi, where the meeting was to take place. He mobilized and met the wazees who had been summoned as part of the hearing, and bought them fobe without mathematics. Wazees who last tasted fobe of bottle in Moi's time, were washing their hands with fobe before eating and after going to the washrooms. He told them to stand by him no matter the accusations, and there will be a bigger reward after.
To close the wazees' eyes even further, when we arrived there with Kafro that Saturday, we called the shareman aside together with the other influential wazees in that meeting and greeted them with a folded 500 note each, which in gicagi standards is a lot of money.
When the case was brought forward, they listened to all the evidence without uttering a word, with some wazees even asleep from the fobe of the previous night. One mzee even had to be excused to go home, after he said he was feeling ki-english-english whereby he blamed it on malaria. He had taken Faxe the previous night after hearing it was imported beer.
So after all the evidence had been tabled, the women in the sitting were left with hands covering their mouths with shock.
The shareman thanked her for the evidence and then proceeded to ask her 4 questions;
- Has your husband ever slept outside the house/didn't come home?
No
- Has your husband ever beaten or threatened to beat you?
Not ever.
- Isorait. Have you ever slept hungry or thrown out because of rent?.
Aah Not even a day.
- Othorait..and finally; Does Matini visit your canaan as often as you would like ama pia hapo kuna shida?
Mmh he's ok, I have no problem with that.
The wazees then murmured amongst themselves and after 5 mins, the shareman delivered the verdict; "hiyo boma haina shida nyingi mtoto wetu. Hizo shida mko nazo ni za kawaida kwa kila boma,,ata sisi hapa tumezipitia at some point bla bla bla..Tungewaomba mketi na Matini, muongee na msikizane."
She raised her voice to protest the judgement but the women in the sitting told her to remain calm. There was also another mzee who is a saved PCEA elder, who had not benefitted from the handouts and didn't know what was going on. When he seemed to have a contrary opinion, he was called outside and told his cow had been stolen, and we didn't see him again.
The war on corruption won't be won during our time.
