Cheki Maneno

Because of the CCP virus, the government has no choice. It has to encourage cheki maneno as the new and alternative mode of transport to work. The cyclists also have to be protected from rogue road users.

Personally I've been wanting to embrace cheki maneno but when I see how Prime Time and Forward Travellers harass cyclists on Jogoo road, naogopa.

Jamaa if you live in Eastlands, getting passed that jogoo road because of vehicles isn't the only hurdle. Security on that whole stretch, through city stadium to town, is a major concern. Otherwise the terrain is perfect for cycling.
Kuna time nilikuwa kule kwa @Kush Yule Mnono , I was amazed by the cycling lanes being developed. Nchi smart sana.

My logic is this.

1. Unless a vaccine for CCP virus is obtained, things will never go back to the old ways.

2. So the matatus will now continue carrying less people than the capacity.

3. We dont have an efficient and rapid mass transport system like trains to ease the burden on our roads.

4. So either mupande cheki maneno of you accept living in a city that will constantly be having heavy traffic.

5. If you used to spend 30 minutes at the stage in order to catch a matatu you'll end up spending more time. 1he or more.
