The movie bases on the video game has finally been done justice! Right from the start you get into the action. Uppercuts and kicks, swords swinging, lightning announcing arrival of gods, and blood splashing about the place when daggers are plunged into heads.
This is the mortal kombat we always wanted and finally it's here!! Fuck yeah!
The movie follows Cole, a mixed martial arts fighter and a crew of chosen champions as they have to fight in a tournament against enemies from a Outworld to defend the Earth Realm from being invaded.
With a runtime of 110mins the movie delivers ita action quick and the pacing is good.
People unfamiliar with the game will not know characters and their abilities, but that is quickly shown.
While the actual acting can be a little wooden at times, especially by the actor playing Cole, the fight choreography and special effects are quite effective in delivering an entertaining experience.
