What you need to know is that a vehicle is salvaged if the repair cost exceeds 50% of the insured value.
Let's take the Subaru for example. It's value when intact is around 1.8m. meaning repairs exceed 900k.
So, if you buy it, be ready to spend that amount to get it on the road
And that is hoping haijanyofolewa after the accident.

Kenya is a bandit economy. You should know that there are several competing interests in the insurance sector to use it as a yardstick in vehicle restoration.

Wajinga ndio waliwao. 2012 nilinunua Subaru nikajichocha eti naenda Subaru Kenya for a quote ya suspension overhaul na major service. Quote ilikuwa well over 200k. Settled on subatech motors for spares and DIY for labour. Nilitumia kitu 83k kubadilisha shocks, springs, mountings and threw in some brake pads and major service parts. Nilisema khandi tawe.
