Saw that post and found something off with it with regards to representation.
Funny because when the tourism industry was on its knees due to Al Shabaab back in 2013, that's when the entire Tembea Kenya campaign was started in a view to lure Kenyans to travel locally and now with the pandemic, it should be stressed that we should be the greatest enablers of that industry.
Pia, what the heck is their idea of food yet meza imejaa flasks and cups

Not quite, good Sir.

A casual visit to the Nairobi National park costs 400/- for you @Okiya as a Kenyan Citizen (born in the 254) , double that amount for a resident (mostly expats and long-term non-Kenyans based in Kenya) and 3,950/- for a Non-Resident (95% of international tourists)

Not really, general spending power and travel culture ndio shida.
It's changing though, with our generation (born 1970 upwards), unlike our folks who's travel was upcountry and back to the city.
There are a variety of travel and destination for all budgets, the only problem is the quality of the cheap ones. What I can say is developers of low budget destinations have very shady establishments. For you to enjoy and get your money's worth, you have to spend on mid to high priced establishments, whereby some are just fake but charge high rates.
