Bahati ft Boondocks 'Taniua' review

Kevin Bahati alias Bahati Kenya is a husband, a father, a reality TV star and a gospel musician who is well known for controversies day in, day out has yet again released a song with genge tone artistes Boondocks.

The song, dubbed Taniua has brought mixed reactions in the country. Is Bahati a gospel artiste? Is he preaching water and drinking wine? The angels should send a representative for clarity

The song Taniua is a total fail, from its video to lyrics and prop(s). Bahati should have let Boondocks do their things, I mean trying to gain genge tone audience is the last thing a mature gospel artiste should do.

The song starts with Odi Wa Muranga declaring how his sins will kill him 'Dhambi za taniua'. The 'Taniua' phrase has been misused in the passed, some using it for sexual orientation while others adopted their meaning. Oh and Odi Wa Mutrang'a was so right when he said 'Hizi kiherehere taniua' because the first verse is a no!

Bahati comes in with the chorus that is also a total fail, it lucks rhythms and has no meaning, the only thing that makes sense is 'Jana ulichana sasa ni hangover'

The third verse, has a rhythm, sadly not understandable. If added to another song with a different artiste probably a genge tone one, it would do better and shine. My favourite line in verse in three, and which I understand perfectly 'ama nikateke wale siz wa ibada' made sense for a moment since that's what happens in our churches.

Verse four, the last stanza which to my opinion was revised before its release made sense when mtoto wa mama was asked 'Kwa kesi ya mbinguni unaeza nitetea kweli?' this statement is so loaded, were they insinuating that Bahati is in the wrong genre, and that he should revisit his decisions? only Boondocks knows the answer.

In verse five, they go ahead to provoke Ezekiel Mutua 'Gun gun huskii nina gun, Ju leo Mtua anauliza kama ataban' really guys? Why would you provoke someone in lyrics and dub it as a gospel song? I'm not trying to be a judge here but that's not the meaning of the gospel.

Bahati should declare his lack of creativity and hire a professional to write his songs, I mean he has been in the industry for a long time to know how things are done. He should befriend Mercy Masika, who has admitted that her songs are all written.

Eloi Eloi, saidia Bahati.
