Would love to visit this town, asking wanakijiji for tips on:

1. The buses I can use from Nairobi, to Arusha, something comfy, I don't mind paying a premium for this. Dont need a flight because the distance is shorter than Mombasa and I don't mind the view.

2. What to expect at immigration: do I need to pay for anything? Do I need covid and/or yellow fever cert?

3. Accommodation tips eg hotel or bnb

4. Women, club culture in TZ

5. Hidden gems

6. Any other tips for a first-timer

Or do Namanga matatus adjacent to the junction of Ronald Ngala and River Road then cross over to the Tz side and do Noah to Arusha Ticket cost Ksh 500 from Nairobi to Namanga, and Tshs 7000 approx Ksh 350 from Namanga to Arusha.
There are numerous accommodation options for all pocket. Use the booking app to select a hotel of your choice based on cost and reviews.

Temporary passport will suffice. Yellow Fever certificate is a must

Women, club culture in TZ
Njiro complex has some nice restaurants and pubs, Check out Leo's Den, George's, TGT.......
Alcohol and food are very cheap and readily available even from the nearest grocery store.

Hidden gems
Visit Cultural Center+ has a wide collection of artifacts, Tanzanite, historical pieces....
Consider hiring a vehicle to move around - Check TripAdvisor for options, though matatus/Daladala are very cheap. Town to most places is equivalent to 20 bob

Covid pcr certificate was a must and temporary PP are the basic requirements. Not sure about yellow fever and public means to get there, modern and coast bus used to have service, haven't seen them on namanga road in a very long time.

This is actually now the biggest headache since you need to test negative 72 hrs before arrival. Yellow fever is a must and if you don't have it, it's very quick to acquire after the jab at Port Health, Wilson Airport

Impala broke up into 2 or 3...nimeskia Ngurdoto and Marangu Shuttles, but they still operate from hapo Jevanjee and Silver Springs. I would honestly advice against using the Namanga connection option; those Namanga-Arusha Noahs you'll be packed in vibaya. Afadhali tu akubali kulipia the shuttle aende mos mos but with some level of comfort.

@AU5 naona senators have given you plenty of information about the place and trip; I'd just like to add the following bits of info:
1. Yellow fever I suggest you get at the border; the TZ side will charge you 1,500 for it, while in Nai I've heard numbers in excess of 2,500.
2. Accommodation varies, but there's generally decent places for affordable prices; what kind of budget would you be working with?
2. Food and drink in Arusha is very cheap compared to 254, and the quality is pretty good even for small roadside pubs. If you're meat lover try QX Pub, very good choma n kuku choma, or take an afte to Kwa Mrombo; it's a chaotic area but imejaa butcheries and bars. If you're with someone unataka kuimpress ulizia Andrew's and have the kuku choma. If you're a pork person tafuta Njooy and thank me later.
3. Prepare yourself to speak all the Kiswahili you know, and discover you're barely literate in the language..but if you want to get the girls, you'll put some effort into it.
